He said, the open, transparent and cooperative attitude and powerful and effective measures adopted by the Chinese government are admirable. The German side has provided China with a certain amount of urgently needed medical supplies and is willing to provide further assistance according to China's needs.

Wang Yi expressed his gratitude and introduced the latest progress of prevention and control of the epidemic. He emphasized that the Chinese government does not only take the safety and physical health of the Chinese people at heart, but also makes its greatest efforts to maintain global public health security. The health and daily life of German citizens in China are ensured. We are confident and capable of defeating the epidemic. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the international community including Germany. China also hopes that the German side could objectively and rationally view the epidemic and China's prevention work, attach importance to the authoritative suggestions made by the World Health Organization, and ensure that the normal exchanges between China and Germany are not affected.

Maas said, the German side will continue to keep communication with the Chinese side, so as to jointly address the challenge of the epidemic.
