|Wang Yi Speaks with Mongolian Foreign Minister Nyamtseren Enkhtaivan on the Phone|
On December 15, 2020, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone conversation with Mongolian Foreign Minister Nyamtseren Enkhtaivan at the latter's request.
Wang Yi said that as good neighbors and good friends, the two countries maintain a strong momentum of growth in China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership. Not long ago, 30,000 sheep donated by Mongolia have all arrived in China, which is again well received in both countries. China returned the favor by timely providing anti-pandemic supplies to assist Mongolia in its effective response. Our neighborly cooperation has made the vision of building a China-Mongolia community with a shared future widely embraced, which has further elevated the friendship and mutual trust between the two sides. China is ready to provide support within its capacity upon the needs of Mongolia, make use of "green lanes", and speed up resumption of work and production and cooperation on priority projects. Both sides also need to undertake early planning on all-round exchanges and cooperation for next year, and push forward the bilateral relations.
Wang Yi said that ensuring "zero imported cases" of COVID-19 between the two countries serves the interest of both sides. China is willing to discuss facilitating the common flow of people and goods at border crossings with Mongolia to minimize the impact of the pandemic on the basis of effective pandemic prevention and control.
Nyamtseren Enkhtaivan spoke highly of the positive progress made in the bilateral relations, and appreciated China for its strong support and assistance for Mongolia's anti-pandemic response. The "green lanes" for the flow of people and goods between the two countries have played an important role in maintaining economic and trade cooperation. Mongolia is willing to properly resolve temporary difficulties encountered during pandemic control based on mutual understanding and support, give a full play to the flow of people and goods at border crossings, and deliver early progress in major cooperation projects. Mongolia is ready to work with China to strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.
